Summer fun list

The summer fun list is written...but we might add more as we think of other things we want to do.  

Lake Productions

Today the girls had a blast with our neighbor!  They made many plays.  K was the director.   The other girls were the actresses.  If they did not show enough "drama," then k would happily jump in and say their lines for them.  It was such fun to watch.  They ended the night with a fashion show.  

Chalk painting

The sound of people writing with chalk makes my skin CRAWL.  My kids very rarely have gotten to write with side walk chalk.  When I found this chalk paint recipe, I was super excited!  All the kids helped make it.  Then we went to work on the dock, trees and rocks.  They even painted a turtle and donkey.  We all had a great time doing it.  I am very excited to mark the first thing off our summer fun list.

Sand castle contest

We had a sandcastle building contest.  The teams were L,k, and m against w and his friend.  Our awesome next door neighbor was the judge.  She chose the l,k,m team because it was bigger and had more features (as far as sand castles go).  We are ending our day with a sunset swim.  The perfect time of day! 

Roasting marshmallows

After cleaning up at the lake, we had plenty of sticks for a big fire.  The night was nice and cool.  perfect for a bon fire.  We enjoyed roasting marshmallows.  So thankful for a great Memorial Day and the people who have given us our freedom.  

New dog

We got a new dog about a month ago.  Her name is Aubie.  She has been afraid if us until now.  She loves the lake, freedom and us!  She will even come right next to us.  I am hoping that this will continue back home.

Homemade Ice cream

A tasty lake tradition...homemade ice cream!  The kids love helping make it.  They also love piling it high with brownies, cookies, sprinkles, chocolate syrup and anything else sweet we have on hand.  

Lake bound

We came up to the lake.  We are excited to have this time with our family and lake neighbors.  

Welcome Summer

Today we welcomed in summer with friends. The kids got a half day for the last day of school so we played and swam for 7 hours!  Everyone is tired and happy tonight.

When we drove up to the house.  K read the sign and asked "Mom, who is Summer?"  She keeps me laughing for sure.

I know some people thought I was crazy having 10 kids at the house for the day but as they were all playing and enjoying their time together...I could be nothing but thankful!  My kids are blessed with great friends.  It was a wonderful way to welcome summer(time)!

2nd annual sweet summertime blog begins

Tomorrow is the last day of school!  The kids are super excited (of course) and so am I.  I have already gotten our summer chore chart done.  The summer fun list is in the works.  I had so much fun last year recording our summer, I have decided to so it again.  Plus, if you know me well, you know i like traditions and any annual event...so here is the second annual summer blog of the Thomas tribe!  Full of everyday happenings and memories.
