Day 61 - big chicken

Today we went to a restaurant in town. They had a person dressed up like a big chicken. The girls could not eat until we went to see it!

Day 60 - birthday celebration

Today we celebrated my baby girl's 6th birthday! So many changes were happening for us and our family when she was due. She was the best change of all!

Day 59 - new pool again

Today we went swimming in another new pool. My aunt bought a new pool and we had a great time swimming for over 3 hours!

Day 58 - pancakes

Last night the girls had friends sleep over. For a special treat, I made them special pancakes. One friend liked them so much. She said "they were surprisingly tasty and flaky.". I love kids!

Day 57 - crafts continued

Today we had a friend over to make crowns for the girl's dolls. They had a wonderful time and it was much easier than sewing!

Day 56 - craft time

Today the girls got a new craft. It is a raccoon stuffed animal that you can sew. I thought it would be a good introduction to sewing. They liked it ok. I am glad cousin c was there to help!

Day 55 - Water Park

Today we went to a water park in our area.  We had a blast!  They have a huge "V" slide that W did 50 times.  I was pretty impressed since you had to carry a tube up 5 flights of stairs.  K did the slide once with me.  We face each other when going down.  The look on her face was sheer terror!  I was very proud of her for trying!  (I was unable to get pics of this slide)

The other activities of the day were the mat slide and wave pool.  MA was so tired that she went to bed at 5:45.  I am hoping that she will not wake up in the middle of the night.

Day 54 - Fort Building

On our summer "to do" list I put fort building.  Little did I know at the time that we would be getting new appliances.  Of course the best things to make forts out of are appliance boxes!  The kids spent hours making, coloring and playing with the forts.

Day 53 - good things

After a month of procrastination, I finally got our new appliances put in. I am very excited to use the new dishwasher. The kids are very excited about having an oven for frozen pizza again.
Today we also made home made ice cream. A very good thing!
Last good thing.... Our cousin c has come to visit for the week.

Day 52 - handprint art

Another item on our summer " to do" list was to make a picture out of everyone's hand print in the family. We started today but have not finished. The hand prints are done but I have to change it into what it is to be.... So the picture will be coming soon.

Day 51 - family board game

Several years ago I saw in a magazine a family game. It is one that you made personally for your family. Of course I loved the idea! It combines two things that I love family and games. I thought the kids were finally to the age that it would be fun to do so I put it on our "to do list" for the summer. We gotit done today but it was more involved than I thought. In the end it paid off because we sat around laughing and playing and just enjoying each other and our family memories.

Day 50- cheer camp

Today was the last day of cheer camp. The girls had a great time learning cheers, stunts and dances. They had some great leaders too!

Day 49 - slumber party

With the boys gone, the girls wanted to have a slumber party. MA is very excited to get to sleep in W's top bunk! They have had a great time playing house, singing and dancing, eating pizza, ice cream and ending the night with movie and popcorn. I think there might even be a pillow fight shortly.

Day 48 - first time off the diving board

K went off the diving board for the first time today! She was so excited! We were very proud of her too! Now her favorite thing to do is do a split off the board.

Day 47 - boys to camp

The boys went off to camp this week. They were very excited when we dropped them off. The girls have not noticed them gone yet. I am starting to miss them.

Day 46- preacher man

Tonight we had our "preacher man" over for dinner. He walked in and K called him "preacher man." K was a little out of control so he got a true taste of the family. Once the kids were in bed, we enjoyed beating him in rummikub.

Day 45- keys

Today the boys and I drove to meet a friend in another city. We had a little extra time so we went to a book store. It is a big chain so we thought we would look at some books. W had to use the restroom. When I asked the man where it was we were informed we had to get the key! We could not stop laughing! You might expect it from a gas station but a well known bookstore... Not so much!

Day 44 - pedicures and sprinklers

So I walked in my bathroom and found three sweet girls doing pedicures. They were having a great time. I came in to help with the clean up. After the pedicures, we went outside to have a lemonade stand. Then we hit the sprinkler. This might last for hours!

Day 43- big day of big fun

L came up with the title for today. The title just about says it all for the day. The kids had a big day on big slides. I had big fun visiting with another mom so I forgot to take pictures

Day 42- singing in the rain

We are thankful for the rain. We had a nice shower today. The girls had fun playing in it.

Day 41 - park fun

Today cooled off after a little rain. So after dinner we headed to the park. It was very nice out and the kids had a great time.

Day 40- k slides again

K went down the slide today at our normal pool. I guess after the slide in c- town she was ready to conquer the one at home.
A few weeks ago I tried to convince her to go off the slide. She looked at me and said " mom, you have the wrong sister. This girl does not go off slides. You can't change that, I have to be who God made me to be." How could I argue with that. At least I know she is learning one thing I have been trying to teach her.
Anyway, I am very proud of her for letting go of her fear and giving it a try! Of course after the first slide I could not get her off of it!

Day 39- Favorite Pictures

             L jumped in lots of the pictures throughout the trip!  This was the funniest!

              All the boys in the family cooled off by sticking their head under the waterfall.

  After the kids were in bed we played Quelf (one of the best games ever!).  They ended up looking like this by the time the game was over.

Dad was upset because we did not tie die him a new shirt.  MA did call him and she thought he said he had one already.  Sorry Daddy!
